Cannondale Junk Food

Cannondale is an American bicycle company, founded in 1971 by Joe Montgomery, Jim Catrambone and Ron Davis to manufacture backpacks and bags for camping and later bicycle trailers for bicycle touring. Today, more than 40 years later, Cannondale is one of the best known brands in the two-wheel business. I really admire the idea of such long-lasting and friendly cooperation.

Last year Cannondale announced the first of two collaborations with Junk Food Clothing Co. The two companies worked together on a new classic Bad Boy bike.

Under the design direction of Demetrius May, the Junk Food’s creative director Mike Palermo connected the companies’ signature black matte base heritage feeling with Cannondale’s advanced components. All styled with a 50’s motorcycle-club aesthetic.  He included some nice, crafted custom leather accessories into the design, such as a leather saddle bag (that can carry a rolled up Junk Food Tee) and a leather tool bag/satchel (that fits on the bike frame).

Watch here to gain insight into the creative process behind this project.
