Bridgestone’s fancy tire decoration

Until now, white rubber has been used on the sidewalls of tyres to produce white ribbon and white lettering on tyres. This process requires the use of large amounts of white rubber to prevent discoloration and and maintain durability. The construction process of creating whitewalls and lettering can add weight to the tyre.

Bridgestone’s advanced tyre printing technology no longer uses the white rubber construction to prevent discoloration but prints a new layer on the tyre instead. Newly developed inks also protect from external damages on the surface. With this new technology, Bridgestone manages to realise a more creative, personal showcase of tyres, to increase fuel efficiency, and to reduce the weight to the tyre.
