LDF 2012: London “Craft Festival”

It is quite clear now that the meaning of “craft” is rapidly changing. There was a time that due to industrialisation and mass production, consumers didn’t really appreciate handcrafted products. The crafts concept was directly connected with time (manufacturing) and price (too high). Fortunately, the industrial era is behind us and we are longing for the things we lost. We rediscover our senses as well our sense of quality. We are now looking for imperfection and honest materials.  Can we change our economy? Can we focus more on local qualities and crafts?
